011111 The Beautiful Beach Wedding of Brett and Sam!

Now that the photos have been distributed and the viewing enjoyment is under way it is my pleasure to present to you Mr. and Mrs. Brett and Samantha Compton!

You may remember Brett from countless other amazing things I've blogged about before. Including the wildly amazing "Learn High Speed Photography with a Gun," and "Just Plain Being Awesome!"

Well this year on 1/11/11, in Cancun Mexico on a beach, Brett married one of the most beautiful, good natured, caring, wonderful women in the world, Sam. Terri and I were SO HONORED not only to be invited to witness this momentous occasion, but to be preserving the cherished moments for them!

The wedding was on the beaches of the glamorous El Dorado Royale on the Mayan Riviera!

The location was amazing and we had plenty of time to plan out some really awesome photographs that usually can't be fit into an average wedding day.

These sunrise images added a really fun dimension to their coverage!

We took a bunch of heartwarming images off an old pier that stretched out into the ocean's lapping waves.

The always beautiful Samantha relaxing at the spa just hours before the big moment!

It was hard to match the beauty of Cancun's flowering landscapes, but Sam blew all of that away!

Their seaside sunset ceremony was an intimate affair.

It couldn't have been better.

Terri and I even managed to take some portraits with off camera strobes (using this method) on our trip with the bride and groom to the Mayan ruins at the ancient city of Tulum where the waters are as blue as sapphires!

This is the amazing Uncle Bob and Bobbie at Tulum!

The resort also had shows each night to entertain the guests. One evening I met up with an Australian fellow with a nice lens who suggested I take photos of the fire show they were putting on that evening. I'm glad I did! I even got in a little time to attempt levitation foolishness while we waited for the show! You can't take me anywhere.

Another awesome part of this trip was getting to hang out with one of the most outstanding families in the known universe. The Comptons. Check out the proof here, here, here, and here.

Above you see another dramatic portrait of Jon and Carrie Danger.

The wedding party were all fabulous. I felt lucky to have met so many really great people at the same time! (Even when they weren't all agreeing)

Congratulations Brett and Sam!!! We love you!

010811 Snowflake

This photo was actually taken in Cincinnati the night before we set off for the balmy 85 degree weather of Mexico. What a contrast!

012211 Fine Art Snow Prints!

I was kind of down this weekend so my wonderful wife took me out to take photos of non-work related things. In this case our much photographed local nature park.

Once there with my 50mm 1.4 lens in hand and my wife by my side I slowly "melted" back into my old self.

And I got some quite nice art prints as well!

Once i got back to the house I created 2 new processing techniques in Lightroom 3!

Prints available:

Print 16 x 20 - $100, Canvas Wrap - $250

Print 11 x 14 - $50, Canvas Wrap - $150

I had a really fun time even though my toes got really cold.

One of the coolest things were the Snow Faces check them out!

And after it was over, my darling bought me lunch. Thanks my love. <3>

012211 Misc, been a long time.

I have been experimenting!

This delight is the African horned melon!

It makes a bowl of curiously flavored snot-esque seeds that you feel like you want to chew but that's not really an option. Truly an interesting experience. I'm looking for a "whats up" from J'nath on that one. If anyone's had one of these it would be him.

Here's an interesting panorama of Cincinnati

These are available printed.

010111 January

This year is EXTRA special because I get to share with you some more collaboration with one of the coolest couples that have ever existed, our good friends Danny and Tina!

Here's January's image!

(also Danny, you were great in this)

011511 Just got back from Mexico!

Sorry we have been so quiet, Terri and I just got back from a fabulous destination wedding in Cancun Mexico!

This trip was amazing! And so were the sights! It was wonderful to leave the frosty snow covered hills of Cincinnati for the sparkling blue-green waters of the Yucatan peninsula for a week!!

This trip also marks the first vacation with our daughter Vivian. Even 6 months pregnant my wonderful wife Terri was a key part of the wedding coverage for our amazing friends Brett and Sam.

The sunrises were magnificent until the day after the wedding where it was cloudy and rainy. But the first 4 days were amazing!

This is the type of resort we stayed in.

Here's Terri and I on the artificial reef we weren't supposed to be on at sunrise. :)

Some of the entertainment at the resort was pretty cool, like this fire show.

This is our groom Brett. On the third day most of the guests went to the Tulum Mayan Ruins. A 4 thousand year old astronomical calendar site.

The waters here were the bluest and most clear of any place we had seen!

Terri could not pass up the opportunity to get in the water with the beautiful bride-to-be Samantha!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH BRETT, SAM, & FAMILIES!

More to come soon about the wedding!
