Cleaning Out Grandma's House

So... I helped my family clean out the house my grandma lived in this weekend. And I found out she didn't tell us everything about our family history in the old country!

IPhone Photo Update


Hello friends! The past few weeks I have been doing a lot of corporate work that I am unable to share. :( So in the mean time I thought I would share another post about phone photos. 
Every so often I purge all the images off my phone and find some that are pretty cool. 
The cameras on phones have been getting better... 
but there's 100 times a day when I think, I could take that shot, but the camera is so limited I can't make it look good. 
Other things like the bottom of a coffee machine, above, are just fine with a hit of instagram filters...
Or the ubiquitous driver's seat portrait with a little Nik's Snapseed software. 

 To be fair to the phones, there are times when you can't get to quality gear. 
For those "smunching" moments, or...
Playing a game of marbles, this will do just fine.

Cinemagr.am and the Future!

HELLO!
I am totally in love with this new app called Cinemagr.am!!! My good friend Eric Cameron and I were talking about a comment our friend Lou Freeman said at the PPN convention recently. "The future of photography is motion." That really struck a chord in us, so Eric got to work creating a PhotoMentorGroup video that will be posted later on our Fanpage! Then he found Cinemagr.am!
 I'm no stranger to gifs I have been making them for years, but they were always really hard to set up and the processing took forever. Plus the file sizes and loading speeds were ridiculous! Cinemagr.am has fixed all that! 
 This app is a simple couple of clicks and swipes and it has some not-yet-cliche filters to apply to the gif!
The dog was obviously thrilled. You can even use videos you've previously shot on your phone which means 
One downside is the file size, pretty dinky. And gifs by nature are pretty low quality. Also the results are jittery if you can't hold perfectly still! 
However that didn't stop me from from pulling off some attempts with our amazing couple Abby and Nick yesterday!!!!
Even with all the faults creating these magical images is just flat out a great idea! I can't wait to get more of my clients involved!

More fun afoot but you'll have to wait!

 So I just finished a fabulous wedding reception last night, but you'll have to give me a week to process that! 
 In the mean time, I have been playing around with the 8 megapixel camera on the iphone 4s. 
I'm pretty sure that is as large a file as the first professional SLR I bought. Times are changing :) 
 While this format is convenient I still am constantly disappointed by the lack of control. :( 
 I know there's the hype about having the first wedding shot entirely on iphones. But I am SURE that wedding party was one patient group of people. There's no way you could depend on this for high quality action. 
 Having said that, I love being able to take photos with auto focus. About 98% of the photos that came out of the Iphone 3G were out of focus. 
 And Steph is Awesome.


By the way just got a QR code generator so the loneliest of smart phoners can connect with my non flash propaganda! Enjoy!
