122410 Our Friends Danny and Tina!

(November in the Tina Love's Danny 2011 Calendar)
In more great news, now that the gifts have been exchanged I can tell you that my good friend Danny got a very special gift for xmas this year. Sneaking here and there Danny's wonderful wife, Tina, and I put together a magnificent calendar in the style of American Painter Gil Elvgrin of Tina in a bunch of magnificently coordinated scenes! I'll be sharing some of the images in the future as long as it's all right with Danny and Tina!

103108 Danny and Tina's Wedding (B is B)

Halloween 2008 my good friends Danny and Tina had their wedding.
(I have to tell you I totally ripped this shot off from David Ziser go check him out at his blog DigitalProTalk.com)

Amazing people Danny and Tina are.

Danny is a fireman and Tina a teacher of the hearing impaired.

Terri and I wish them all of the luck in the world.

I just finished sorting all of Danny and Tina's photos... Whew. Here's a few more of the cool ones.

I love this candid from Tina getting ready. So elegant.

This guy can't take a bad photo.

The cake.

The dance.

The Rekers. Simply Stunning.

Our friend Doug. Great Guy.

Modern Day Pin Up Calendar - Part 2

So here's the second half of the year ladies and gentlemen! I'm quite proud of the image above, I think this session was my favorite of the calendar. Thinking about it now, it's probably because we got a real stunt bi-plane to pose with, and I eventually got to chase it around the sky thanks to Andy and Tico!

In some cases budget and time just didn't allow for the full blown concept we had so we pulled inspiration from the flat minimalist backgrounds of american painter Gil Elvgrin. (The fire pole here is a broken lamp :)

(July)

This shoot was a scream. Sorry. Anyway, really it was taken the same night as July above, but it was about 20 degrees outside with wind. It was a really fun shoot and the cold just made us work more efficiently. :)

Once again, all of these images are for a really thoughtful and stylish gift for my friend's husband. Thank you SO MUCH Tina and Danny for letting me share these. This whole project was ultra fun. Tina and I had to coordinate this elaborate plot while Danny was at work so it would stay a surprise (and it took several months)! ...and Danny, I'm so glad you didn't find Tina's phone with messages like "We can't do it tonight, Danny stayed home sick." and come try to kill me. :)

If you are interested in creating a timeless masterpiece for you or someone you love please don't hesitate to call. It doesn't even have to be a calendar, it could just be a beautiful portrait.

Playing in the Hotel!

Here's a fun little image I made at the wedding of our friends Ryan and Michelle back in June. I saw the elevators and I really wanted to try it! So we convinced the Infamous Danny and Tina to test it! 10-22, 6.3, 1/10th of a second. Terri is holding the Quantum Q flash behind Danny and Tina.
Here's a version at 200 mm.

I just thought of this since Terri and I got to talk to this fabulous couple at another awesome wedding last night!

Modern Day Pin Up Calendar

(Thanks Tom and Ann P. for use of your pool!)

It all started about a year ago. Tina had a fantastic idea to surprise her beloved husband (and awesome fireman stud) Danny!! A modern day pin up calendar!!!

So, Tina is a genius. She had most of the concepts well thought out by the time we started production. All I needed to do was create the image that she had constructed. It was a great team. With the help of my wonderful wife Terri and master automotive photographer OJ Santiago, the whole calendar was a joy to create!

This is actually Danny. We snatched a few images from their engagement session for the calendar when December started creeping up on us :) But with the shamrock dress we thought this would be a fine March.

(April Showers)

Look for some awesome outtakes from some of these sessions in the future!

(One of my favorites from the engagement session! That's Ella, the family dog. :)

This is only half of the images used for the Calendar. The other half will be posted soon!

060808 Flowers!

This is where it all started! The weekly emails used to be called weekend flowers. you all probably know I worked for a brilliant florist some time ago and I have always loved flowers.

These were also taken with the ring flash.

All of these came from my friend Glenda's garden. I think they are beautiful.

This amazing flower came from my friends Danny and Tina. I stole it while waiting for them to get to their house. I got some other stuff too, but most of that has already gone on eBay.

010111 January

This year is EXTRA special because I get to share with you some more collaboration with one of the coolest couples that have ever existed, our good friends Danny and Tina!

Here's January's image!

(also Danny, you were great in this)

Chelsea's Senior Portraits!

I've known Chelsea since she was a young'n!
Last weekend I got to immortalize her with her senior portraits!

Just as much fun as last time but with a different purpose, Chelsea and I had the luck of James Hollenberg showing us his secret location!
And it was beautiful!

I can't believe how big you've gotten!
Keep rocking Chelsea & Tina!

092708 Misc

I took this while car shopping.

This, my friends, is my chocolate/Raspberry salt water taffy danish (I rolled up two flavors). Turns out that salt water taffy is some sort of colloid or something. It flattens over night. We at the office (and by we I mean Tina) bought them because you can throw them but they aren't as hard as starbursts.
