051609 Krohn Conservatory Butterfly Show

This Saturday I went to the annual Butterfly show at Krohn Conservatory with my beautiful wife and good friends.

It very well could have been titled "Molest the Butterflies Day."

Even Terri got in on the act.

This was the only photo of the blue butterflies I could get. They only open when they fly. I tried all day to get even one photo.

Most of the time they are folded like this.

What trip to Krohn would be complete without a trip through the orchid room?

This one looks like a dancing lady!

A good time was had by all.

051709 Rob, Frisbee Gamer (B is B)

My friend Rob decided to order some prints after I came to his highschool to talk about photography and I made mention of him being an expert frisbee-ist while he was in the class.

seriously, he can use those things like Chinese throwing stars.

He also really likes Halo.

051109 Chip and Dr. Fuzz

During my second session with Ciara in downtown Cincinnati OH I happened upon these two sordid chaps. On the right is Dr. Fuzz, brother of Heather (who organized the Kenton County animal shelter adoption event) and Judo expert. On the left, Chip. An animal lover in his own right. I met him at a birthday party for his dog and meteor shower viewing at a local hotel over 12 years ago. He brought the dog to the swimming pool that night. I'll be honest, I'm only posting this picture because they said I had to... and I'm afraid of them.

050909 Nat and Kiki (B is B) Great People I Know

Disclaimer this week: These images
look 10 times more amazing large.

Please take the time to enlarge them.
Nat and Kiki are on this blog so much they
are about to get their own Keywords!
The latest in the series called "Great People I know" are the dynamic duo Nat and Kiki. Aside being very photogenic people, Nat and Kiki are just awesome. For example...

They have no problem having fun.
In fact, they prefer it. I admire that.

There is narry a boring moment while hanging out with them.

What sign?

A sense of style and poise, too.

Is this not an amazing photograph?
Click on it right now, it's Beautiful!
I have developed a new process for a
"bleach by-pass" effect this week.
I hope you like it.

And finally on the suggestion of fellow Minneapolis photographer Ben Zvan, I took the magnificent couple to this remote outpost for a far beyond average on location shoot.

Truly outstanding representation of some outstanding people. Any good photographer will tell you that the quality of the photograph is dependent as much on the subjects as the photog.

Thank you Kiki and Nat for enriching my life
and the life of my wife (hey that rhymes)!
You are Great People I Know.

050709 Guest Lecture at Highlands High (B is B)

I was lucky enough last week to return to the halls of my old Highschool as a guest lecturer for Mrs McGhee's Journalism class. I shouldn't really say old, though, because I didn't recognize a single part. It was amazing! Like the Jetsons in there! Totally renovated. The kids even gave me a tour of the building. At one point I said, If you left me here I'd die! There's no way I would find my way out!

Here's the fantastic class I got to talk to! Mrs. McGhee's first period Journalism. My topic was how to make money doing what you enjoy.
Thank you very much class! I had big time fun!

050609 Baby Bird Slideshow (as promised)

The baby birds left the nest this week,
I took pictures of them every day i was at work.

050809 Misc (All kinds of Junk)

Well after 10 weeks of planning and rallies, websites, dinners, radio and tv commercials, two canvassing weekends, and a car parade the Little Miami School district still got voted down hard.

Once again, If anyone knows of any jobs teaching art
in the Cincinnati local area let us know.

And Now on to some other junk...

This would be my nightmare. To one day wake up in a neighborhood where every house looks the same and we all mow the grass at the same time. the neighborhood association prevents me from washing my car in the driveway or painting my house without a consensus. If you live in one of these and like it, more power to you, but I would wither up.

The Little Miami river at dusk.

050109 Ciara Could be a Princess! (B is B)

Ciara is one of the prettiest ladies I have ever photographed.

I spent way more time editing the backgrounds for her photoshoot than any part of her.

We almost didn't go out Friday because the weather forecast said rain.

However Ciara talked me into it and we had a great time.

This is only the first half of the shoot. When it gets sunny we are going out again!

050109 NATURE!

A robin made a nest at waist level near the entrance to my office.
Every day I take a picture of the progress of the birds.
When they leave the nest I'll put together a slideshow.
I think they look like Skeksis.

Yea, there's all types of cute up in dis blog.

Sure is greening up out there.

050309 Allergies Have Torn Me a New One

Ah yes Spring is a wonderful time of blooms and...

Pollen, heaping piles of pollen, pollen in a dust coating over everything making me unable to use my nose, sleep,
or stop coughing.
This is the green layer of tree pollen on my otherwise gold car.

One
day I'll get my revenge on you springtime!
