081309 Megan and the Super Quick Shoot.

Megan kept saying that she needed a new facebook photo a week ago, so right before my beautiful wife and I left for my grandpa's birthday we accompanied Megan and Rob to a local street corner on Kenwood Road.

When my city taxes pay for this, I'm okay with it.

All of these photos were taken with a single 580EXII with an off-camera RF trigger.
(Rob shaded his lovely from the sun with a Wescot 32" reflector.)

Earlier that day I tried the impossible task of matching two incongruent lighting sources. :(

080609 Weston (B is B)

This is Weston at 1 and 1/2 weeks, the beautiful new addition to Katherine and Jerry's family.
Here's a few composites I have created for them, Surprise guys! You'll get the DVD in about 3 hours.

Thank you two for letting me come and spend some time!

Both composites created in "the Ziser style" in LumaPix.

080409 Hors D'ouvres, Compton Style! (Great People I Know)

STOP!

Ok, how did we get here?

It started out simply enough...

Carrie is a friend of mine who lives in Reno. She is starting her own photography business taking, among other things, extreme mountain bike racing. Check her website out right here.

She asked me to stop by while she was in town to talk about Canon flashes. Here I am talking the finer points of directional lighting all Ziser style.

Well, to teach high speed photography
you have to have high speed...

Enter the Patriarch of the Clan of Great People I Know, Bob Compton.

When I came over to work on flash technique with Carrie one thing lead to another until...
What's better for high speed photography than breaking glass?

Brett the perennial student and engineer, explains crack patterns in tempered glass.

Once we finished shooting 4 panels the grilled salmon an garden fresh vegetables were ready and we all sat down to a fantastic feast with two opposing types of Sauvignon blanc.

Bob (to round out his awesomeness) is even an incredibly talented photographer who preferred the medium of the rich deep tones of hand processed black and white on a medium format camera. Thank you for the waterfall print, Sir!

080209 Damien! (B is B)

Damien is a pretty awesome kid.
He, his mom, Terri and i went to Cox Arboretum for some pictures.

We had lots of fun, but Damien wanted to see the turtles. In the mean time we played on rocks.

And heard interesting jokes about fruit head people.

It was a pretty fun day even though there weren't many turtles.

This is as close as we got.

072709 ISES Cincinnati (B is B)

Two Monday's ago I was asked to photograph the Cincinnati chapter of the International Special Events Society, or ISES, as they are known. This is a terrific group of extremely talented event specialists from flowers, to lighting, to coordination and everything in between this is your go-to group if you are serious about making your event a success!

073109 Rekers Birthday Party plus Whephmania!

This past week marked the 32nd anniversary of the birth of the iconic enigma that is "Rekers." This gala celebration was no exception to the string of triumphant victories over the gauntlet that we humans call life that have been thrown in his honor.
This year among other things he received a fish, and a well crafted book. He also waxed his chest hair. Email if you are interested in seeing more.

Steph and my wife, Terri, had a photo shoot last week and after terri created this image, Steph demanded that it go on the blog. When you are dealing with a person as awesome as Steph, you can't really argue.
Photo by Terri, Hair and Makeup by Steph, and China.

072809 Bryan's my New Best Friend (B is B)

Bryan is one of the most intelligent individuals I have ever met.

He's a golfer.

And he likes business.

I'll be honest, I hope he remembers me after high school so we can be friends.

We've all seen it a lot, but to get the full impact of the images

This is a photo of my beautiful angel ascending into heaven.

Alone

Just having a good time on top of the world.

Edge

I have recently been working with a lot of overlay and cross processing for a more stylistic feel. Here is an alternate processing of the second photo in this post.

Isolated Thundershowers
(check out the rain in this one)

These two images are the view from the hilltop overlooking I 275 into Ohio where the images were created. The above HDR and the below a panorama with my little angel at the far right.

072509 Other Terri-centric News!

Biggest Update! Perhaps you remember by typing that Terri the most important person in my world and undisputed life-partner-in-crime has been looking for a job after getting laid off as a result of this economic hail storm. Well, not only did my beautiful wife get a job... she got a job teaching art to highschool students, which was exactly what she wanted to do!

Smaller Update! Aunt Debbie (who pointed out the sunflower field last week) found a bicycle for Terri! It's a cute one. I'll do a shoot with it later.
