Downside, we broke an elbow.

Lasers!
So a couple of weeks ago a friend of mine mentioned getting a green laser for crimmus!
Well hearing that was all I needed to schedule a play date for all the lasers I'd been collecting and my fog machine!
It was awesome!
Nothing says cool like light amplification through stimulated emissions of radiation!

Very Rainbow Bright
I was lucky enough to get a special visit from my friend Mariel the other day! She knew any visit to the Viltrakis home has an 80% change of a photoshoot. This super cool image was taken with a flashlight and two of Vivian's night lights! Pretty cool huh! 1/8th of a second hand held. 10mm

Angel on the Riverbanks
So after the full day of shooting on location with David Ziser's Master's class I started mouthing off about light painting and they made me put the money where my flashlight was. This is Tarah posing for my good friend Rick Collins camera while I drew mirror images of the wings with love lights :) That was followed up by a hearty launch out of the frame while Jason Lykins tapped off a click or two from the SB800 flash!
Fun times. :)
Jessica and Taha
This wonderful couple is Jessica and Taha, two of the most amicable and gentle people ever!
They decided to have their special evening under the stars at the Cincinnati Zoo! And it was a magnificent choice. The entire reception area was lit with millions of tiny purple led lights! It was amazing!

Jessica and Taha were a pleasure for Terri and I because they knew what they wanted. That made it simple for us to keep the style of the day true.

It was am intimate ceremony in the shadow of the Zoo's Elephant Reserve.
...and then!!! Jessica and Taha got to meet the elephants!
The Zoo has some seriously amazing facilities available for any event you might need a space for. There were animals with handlers walking around throughout the evening, amazing settings, and free reign over the whole park! I even got to see a lion at the end of the night! I can't say enough good things about it, really!
This is one for the moms :) My flash didn't recycle fast enough and the light was from Terri's off camera 580, but it catches the glee on both mom's faces while they watch their children cut the wedding cake :) So perfect!

Late in the evening, further proof that the maids of honor (there wasn't just one, they all were) were awesome, Taraheh performed a part an opera.

Taking a Break With Some Art
Terri and I had consultations, weddings, and family portraits this weekend, so I'm sharing a little art with everyone until I can get through the edits!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share this amazing 30 second exposure I took last night with Mr. David Ziser's 8mm sigma lens. I was all over the 85 mm 1.2 when Mr. Ziser said I HAD to take some photos with the 8!
So here's a nursery shot of my two lovely ladies!

Friday night was my usual photo jam session with national car photog OJ Santiago and fellow mom-to-be, Kari. Tonight's experiment was long exposure, with speedlights, transmitting to the ipad wirelessly. We were also celebrating the birthday of my wonderful assistant Terri V. :)

Mr Santiago can't believe how cool the wireless Ipad tethering is... in fact, he shot lasers out his eyes just after this photo. It's that cool.

We even got in a vertigo era light show for the birthday girl. The long shutter speed test was a success!
